We are seeking a reliable and responsible Bus/Van Driver Substitute to join our team at the Oakville School District. The successful candidate will be responsible for transporting passengers safely and efficiently to their destinations. This is a substitute position, which means you will be called upon to fill in for our regular drivers when they are unavailable.
Responsibilities:
- Operate a bus or van safely and efficiently, following all traffic laws and company policies
- Pick up and drop off passengers at designated locations
- Maintain a clean and organized vehicle
- Keep accurate records of mileage, fuel consumption, and passenger counts
- Communicate effectively with passengers and dispatchers
- Follow all safety procedures and protocols, including conducting pre-trip inspections and wearing appropriate safety gear
- Respond to emergencies and accidents as needed
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements:
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
- Ability to pass a background check and drug test
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Ability to work flexible hours
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
