Bus Monitor

Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and responsible individual to join our team as a Bus Monitor. This part-time position involves ensuring the safety and well-being of students during their transportation to and from school. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills, a caring demeanor, and the ability to manage various situations with patience and professionalism.

Responsibilities

• Supervise students while they are boarding, riding, and disembarking the bus to ensure their safety.
• Assist students in finding their seats and securing seat belts as needed.
• Monitor student behavior and enforce safety rules and regulations to maintain a positive and safe environment.
• Communicate with the bus driver regarding any issues or concerns that arise during transportation.
• Provide assistance to students with special needs, ensuring they receive the necessary support.
• Conduct regular checks of the bus for safety compliance and cleanliness.
• Report any incidents or emergencies to the appropriate authorities promptly.
• Maintain a positive and friendly attitude to foster a supportive atmosphere for students.
• Attend training sessions and staff meetings as required.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Previous experience working with children or in a supervisory role preferred.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to remain calm and composed in stressful situations.
• Knowledge of safety regulations and procedures related to school transportation.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including early mornings and afternoons.
• CPR and First Aid certification is a plus.
• Must pass a background check and comply with all safety and health regulations.
