Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and reliable Part-Time Bus Driver to join our transportation team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for safely transporting passengers to their designated locations while providing excellent customer service. This position requires a commitment to safety and adherence to all traffic regulations and company policies.
Responsibilities
- Driving a 5 hour route with possibilities for additional hours.
- Operate a bus safely and efficiently, ensuring the timely arrival and departure of scheduled routes.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure safety and operational readiness.
- Assist passengers as needed, including helping those with disabilities or special needs.
- Maintain a clean and orderly bus interior and exterior.
- Follow all traffic laws and regulations, as well as company policies and procedures.
- Communicate effectively with passengers, dispatch, and other staff members.
- Report any accidents, incidents, or maintenance issues to the appropriate personnel.
- Keep accurate records of hours worked, mileage, and passenger counts.
- Attend training sessions and meetings as required.
Requirements
- Valid commercial driver's license (CDL) with a passenger endorsement; Must be 21 years or older.
- Clean driving record and bus driving experience preferred.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
- Excellent customer service skills and a friendly demeanor.
- Ability to remain calm and composed in stressful situations.
- Knowledge of local traffic laws and routes is preferred.
- Must pass a background check and drug screening.
- High school diploma or equivalent is preferred.

While performing the duties of a school bus driver, the employee is regularly required to sit for extended periods while operating a vehicle and to use hands and fingers to grasp, manipulate, and operate bus controls. The position requires frequent turning of the head and upper body to check mirrors and monitor passenger activity, as well as the ability to reach, bend, stoop, kneel, or crouch during pre- and post-trip inspections and emergency procedures. Drivers must be able to climb stairs repeatedly to enter and exit the bus and occasionally lift or move objects weighing up to 25–50 pounds, such as student belongings or emergency equipment. Clear vision (with or without correction) and hearing are essential to ensure safe operation and communication. The work is performed in a variety of weather conditions and may involve exposure to vehicle fumes, noise, and vibrations. The employee must possess the physical and mental capabilities to safely operate a school bus and respond promptly to emergencies.
