Provide behind-the-wheel training for bus drivers
JOB SCOPE
The Bus Driver Trainer trains drivers to provide clean, safe, and reliable transportation to ensure that students enjoy the full advantage of school district programs and activities. To accomplish these tasks, the Bus Driver Trainer must work closely with the staff and administration of Jefferson County School District 509J.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND CERTIFICATION/LICENSURE (Minimum Qualifications)
All bus drivers or others employed or employed in that capacity must:
- High school diploma or equivalent;
- Minimum two year of experience driving a school bus;
- Oregon School Bus Trainer Certificate for Instructors - or have the ability to become certified;
- Be at least 18 years of age;
- Hold a valid Oregon Commercial Drivers License (CDL) - or have ability to obtain;
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience working as a school bus driver in a k-12 environment.
- Experience working in a CDL driver position in a non-school industry.
- Holds a valid Oregon commercial driver’s license (CDL) with passenger, air brake and “S” endorsement, school bus driver certificates/licenses and the ability to obtain a valid First Aid/CPR card.
- Bilingual Spanish
COMPENSATION
- Wage Schedule: $27.51-$33.93/hr *26/27 wages TBD
- Work days: 180 (10 month)
- Personal days, Sick days
- JCSD 509-J pays the employee's share (6%) of the Public Employees Retirement System Contribution
