Director of Risk Management

Transportation Management Group
Las Vegas, NV Full Time
POSTED ON 1/14/2026
AVAILABLE BEFORE 2/13/2026

About Us:

GMTCare is a mission-driven provider of non-emergency medical transportation (NEMT) services, dedicated to helping individuals with diverse mobility needs access safe, reliable, and compassionate transportation. Since our founding in 2009, we’ve grown rapidly across Nevada, Arizona, and New Mexico, improving lives and healthcare outcomes one ride at a time.

Our corporate office, Transportation Management Group (TMG), is headquartered in Las Vegas, NV, and provides the strategic leadership and operational support that powers GMTCare’s growing footprint. As we continue to expand, with plans to open 6 to 10 new bases annually, TMG plays a critical role in scaling our mission and ensuring operational excellence.

Guided by our core values—Compassion, Attitude, Responsibility, and Excellence ("We CARE")—we’ve built a culture centered on service, integrity, and innovation. Our commitment to safety and professionalism is reflected in every aspect of our operations, from a state-of-the-art fleet equipped with GPS and powered lifts, to the 80 hours of training each driver completes before serving our clients.

Why Join Our Team?

TMG is seeking a motivated and safety-focused Safety Coordinator to join our team during an exciting period of growth. This role is a great opportunity for someone looking to build a career in safety, risk management, or compliance within a mission-driven, multi-state non-emergency medical transportation organization.

This position is hands-on and field-based, working closely with frontline Transporters and operational leaders. You will assist with incident response and investigations, conduct safety observations and inspections, and help identify potential risks before they become larger issues. If you enjoy being out in the field, problem-solving in real time, and supporting safe work practices, this role offers meaningful, day-to-day impact.

The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, proactive, and eager to learn. You don’t need to have all the answers on day one—we’re looking for someone who asks good questions, follows processes, and is committed to growing their knowledge of safety and compliance. You’ll receive exposure to investigations, regulatory requirements, and safety programs while working alongside experienced leaders who are invested in your development.

At TMG, safety is a shared responsibility. We value teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement, and we are committed to creating a supportive environment where employees feel safe, heard, and supported.

If you’re looking for an entry-level or early-career opportunity where you can gain real-world safety experience, develop valuable skills, and grow with a company that prioritizes its people, we encourage you to apply.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide enterprise-wide leadership over risk identification, assessment, scoring, and mitigation strategies across all operational regions, ensuring risks are proactively identified and addressed before impacting safety, compliance, or business continuity.
  • Direct complex incident and accident investigations, including root cause analysis spanning operational processes, human factors, fleet and equipment integrity, environmental conditions, and systemic control failures; translate findings into corrective action plans and preventative controls.
  • Oversee the organization’s insurance and claims strategy, including carrier relationships, policy optimization, claim administration, evidence preservation, adjuster coordination, litigation support, settlement evaluation, and loss trend analysis.
  • Lead company-wide safety and risk programs, including regulatory audits, internal compliance reviews, structured inspections, and continuous monitoring of adherence to federal, state, and contractual requirements.
  • Design, implement, and govern OSHA-aligned safety programs (including OSHA 10 and OSHA 30 where applicable), oversee CPR/First Aid training delivery, and ensure assessment tracking and workforce competency compliance.
  • Develop and maintain enterprise risk dashboards, predictive risk indicators, loss-cost modeling, and executive-level reporting to inform leadership decision-making and resource allocation.
  • Establish, maintain, and enforce risk management policies, emergency preparedness plans, crisis response protocols, business continuity frameworks, and exposure reduction standards aligned with industry best practices and regulatory expectations.
  • Partner cross-functionally with Compliance, Operations, Fleet, HR, Legal, and Executive Leadership to standardize processes, embed risk controls into daily operations, and ensure consistent application across all locations.
  • Lead risk-related training initiatives, safety communications, and incident-prevention campaigns that strengthen organizational awareness, accountability, and safety culture at all levels of the workforce.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to executive leadership, providing strategic guidance on emerging risks, regulatory changes, insurance exposure, and operational vulnerabilities impacting growth and scalability.
  • Support executive-level and investor-facing risk discussions, including preparation of materials related to enterprise risk posture, claims trends, safety performance, and compliance maturity.
  • Monitor evolving federal, state, and local regulatory requirements impacting non-emergency medical transportation, healthcare-adjacent operations, fleet safety, and workforce protection, ensuring timely implementation of necessary controls.
  • Drive continuous improvement through data-driven insights, post-incident trend analysis, benchmarking, and the adoption of scalable risk management practices suitable for a high-growth, multi-state organization.
  • Support cross-functional initiatives and perform related duties as assigned to advance organizational risk, safety, and compliance objectives.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Health & Safety, Occupational Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Risk Management, or a related field required; an equivalent combination of education and relevant professional experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • 5 years of progressive experience in worker health and safety, risk management, or compliance programs, with 2 years in a leadership or enterprise-level role.
  • Demonstrated experience leading enterprise or multi-site safety and risk programs within regulated, frontline or field-based environments.
  • Proven expertise in incident investigations, root cause analysis, corrective action implementation, and prevention strategies.
  • Strong working knowledge of OSHA, DOT, HIPAA, and applicable federal and state safety and compliance regulations.
  • Experience overseeing claims management, insurance coordination, and litigation support in partnership with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ability to develop and deliver executive-level risk reporting, dashboards, and trend analyses to senior leadership and governance bodies.
  • Executive presence with sound judgment, discretion, and the ability to influence across functions while maintaining independence and credibility.
  • Proactive, prevention-oriented leader capable of translating regulatory and safety requirements into practical, scalable solutions in a high-growth, multi-state organization.
  • Master’s degree in Health & Safety or a related discipline preferred.
  • Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH) preferred
  • Certified CPR Instructor (American Red Cross) and OSHA 501 Authorized Trainer preferred.
  • Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel locally and as needed to support operations across multiple states.
