TITLE: Electronics Assembler
SUPERVISOR: Plant Manager
General Summary: At Transportant, we help schools across the USA keep students safe by making their buses smarter. There are over 500k school buses in use in America. Smarter buses reduce pollution and climate change and allow more of the school budget to be spent on education.
The Electronics Assembler for Transportant will be actively engaged in the assembly, kitting, and shipping of Transportant’s products. Their input will have a direct impact on the satisfaction of the customer and the performance of the product in the field. Your input is welcome as we continue to improve the assembly processes.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
Perform hardware diagnostics as needed
Perform assembly, rework and repair of company devices
Perform quality inspection of all completed processes
Use computer-based systems to enter/record required data
Receive, verify, and stock inventory from various vendors
Fill, pick, and prepare part requests/orders for shipment
Assist in maintaining accurate inventory records
Arrange for delivery or shipment of parts as required
Conduct periodic inventory audits and resolve discrepancies
Complete accurate defective part documentation
Miscellaneous daily tasks including clean-up activities
Light warehouse duties
Performs other related duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills and Ability:
Experience and understanding of lean manufacturing and continuous improvement is a plus
Experience with electrical assembly in tight spaces
An understanding of product specifications and production standards.
Basic understanding of electronic components
Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment
High attention to detail
Must be able to read/interpret basic technical instructions
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
Possess good organizational and decision-making skills
Strong problem solving and root cause analysis
Positive, flexible and team-first attitude
Effective communication skills
Ability to learn new processes and procedures
Must be able to lift and / or move objects with a weight of up to 70 lbs
Experience in assembly, upgrade, and/or repair of electronics preferred
Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
Education and Experience
Electronics assembly a preferred skill
High school diploma or equivalent.
At least two years' production line experience in a related industry.
Work Environment
The Electronics Assembler will need to spend most of their time in the factory and warehouse. Local and national travel to support clients and suppliers may be required.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $17.00 - $18.00 per hour
