About the Role
Transport Refrigeration of Northwest Arkansas, Inc. (TRA) is seeking an experienced Service Manager to oversee daily operations of our Thermo King service department and trailer repair shop. This hands-on leadership role ensures our technicians deliver safe, high-quality work while meeting productivity, customer service, and compliance goals.
What You’ll Do
- Manage and coordinate all service activities for Thermo King transport refrigeration units and general trailer repairs
- Supervise and support technicians—assign work, monitor progress, and ensure quality standards
- Oversee scheduling, work orders, and timely completion of repairs
- Partner with estimators and parts teams to ensure accurate quotes and efficient workflow
- Promote top-tier customer service by addressing inquiries, resolving issues, and providing updates
- Monitor technician performance; provide coaching, training, and support
- Conduct monthly safety inspections and enforce all safety policies
- Support training and certification programs for technicians (including OEM certifications)
- Analyze department performance and recommend improvements
What You’ll Bring
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical or vocational training preferred
- 3–5 years of experience in transport refrigeration (Thermo King or similar), diesel service, or trailer repair
- Prior management or foreman experience preferred
- Strong leadership and communication skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Experience with service management systems and OEM diagnostic tools
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel occasionally for training or meetings
Physical & Work Environment
- Lift up to 50 lbs occasionally; frequent standing, bending, and movement in shop areas
- Mix of office and shop settings; moderate noise levels and occasional exposure to fumes
- Must follow and enforce all safety procedures
