Transport Refrigeration Inc. is seeking mechanically inclined candidates who enjoy diagnosing problems, repairing equipment, and working with their hands. Previous diesel or dealership experience is helpful, but it is not required. We will consider candidates with experience in:
- Manufacturing or industrial maintenance
- Mechanical and electrical troubleshooting
- Hydraulics and pneumatics
- Welding and fabrication
- Automotive, agricultural or heavy-equipment repair
- HVAC or refrigeration systems
- Preventive maintenance and equipment repair
with experience in:
-- Military mechanical or technical occupations

A Career Path for Mechanical Talent
You do not need to start over because you are changing industries. Skills developed in manufacturing, industrial maintenance, equipment repair, electrical troubleshooting, hydraulics, welding and fabrication can transfer directly into fleet maintenance.

What You’ll Do
- Inspect, diagnose, maintain and repair commercial trucks and trailers
- Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, hydraulic and air systems
- Perform preventive maintenance and safety inspections
- Repair brakes, suspension components, lighting and trailer equipment
- Use diagnostic equipment, schematics and service information
- Complete basic welding and fabrication when needed
- Document repairs and communicate findings to the service team
- Learn diesel, trailer and transport refrigeration systems through hands-on training
- Follow Company and customer safety procedures
What We’re Looking For
- Hands-on mechanical experience from any relevant industry
- Ability to diagnose problems and determine practical solutions
- Basic knowledge of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic or pneumatic systems
- Experience using hand tools, power tools and diagnostic equipment
- Willingness to learn truck, trailer and refrigeration repair
- Ability to work safely and independently
- Basic computer skills or willingness to learn
- Valid and unrestricted driver’s license
- High school diploma or equivalent
Diesel, truck, trailer or refrigeration experience is preferred but not required. Technical-school education may substitute for work experience.
