Company Description
Transport One is a Chicago-area drayage transportation company with expertise in intermodal container drayage to and from all Chicagoland rail facilities. We have been servicing the Chicagoland market since 2003 with a fleet of 55 local and regional trucks.
Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site role located in Joliet, IL for an Intermodal Coordinator. The Intermodal Coordinator will manage a diversified customer base and will perform tasks, including order entry, Railroad tracing, appointment scheduling, timely communication with customers and truck drivers and other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Logistics and Operations: Knowledge of intermodal transportation processes, scheduling, and shipment coordination
- Communication: Strong interpersonal and written communication skills for effective interaction with carriers and customers
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in using transportation management systems (TMS) and other logistics software
- Organizational Skills: Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
- Team Collaboration: Ability to work effectively within a team-oriented environment
- Preferred Qualifications: Previous experience in intermodal logistics and familiarity with the transportation industry, ideally having worked for an intermodal container drayage company.
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent required
