Class A CDL Driver Trainer

Are you passionate about safety, training, and helping drivers succeed? Transport National is seeking a Driver Trainer to lead our driver onboarding and development programs. This role is key to ensuring our drivers meet the highest standards of safety and compliance while feeling supported throughout their careers. In addition to training responsibilities, the Driver Trainer will assist as a Local Driver Loader (LDL) when needed. LDL duties include ensuring proper load securement—such as tarping, chaining, and strapping—managing securement inventories, overseeing transferred freight, and maintaining the yard.

What You’ll Do

• Develop and deliver a comprehensive Driver Training Program aligned with company policies and FMCSA requirements.
• Train and mentor new drivers, serving as their primary point of contact during onboarding.
• Conduct regular check-ins during the first year to ensure performance and provide ongoing support.
• Create engaging training content, including videos and interactive modules.
• Facilitate monthly and remedial training sessions.
• Assist with ELD system management and resolve real-time HOS issues.
• Support safety initiatives, including CSA score monitoring and Driver Safety Meetings.
• Collaborate with HR on driver recruitment and retention efforts.
• Step in as Local Driver Loader (LDL) when needed—handling load securement, yard maintenance, and local pickups/deliveries.
• Travel to outside terminals as required.

What We’re Looking For

• Valid Class A CDL and current federal medical card.
• 1–5 years of driving experience or equivalent industry experience.
• Strong knowledge of DOT compliance and interstate freight regulations.
• Excellent communication skills and a commitment to safety.
• Organized, detail-oriented, and proficient in Microsoft Office.
• Ability to create innovative training solutions and multi-task effectively.
