Accounting Specialist

Transport National, a stable and growing company in the transportation and logistics industry, is looking for a Part-Time Accounting Specialist to join its friendly, collaborative finance team. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with numbers, solving problems, and contributing meaningfully without a full-time schedule.

Core responsibilities for this part-time role include:

•      Apply payments to customer accounts and support accounts payable

•      Assist with payroll processing and related transaction recording

•      Reconcile general ledger, bank, and credit card accounts

•      Prepare journal entries and assist with month-end close

•      Analyze financial data and identify discrepancies

•      Maintain accurate and organized financial records

•      Assist with audits, tax filings, and financial schedules as needed

Required:

•      Associate’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field

•      1–3 years of accounting experience (internships welcome)

•      Proficiency with Excel and accounting software

•      Clear communication skills and strong attention to detail

•      Ability to manage multiple priorities independently

Preferred:

•      Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field

•      Experience in transportation or logistics

•      ERP or accounting system experience

•      Payroll knowledge

•      CPA or progress toward CPA

•      Enjoy learning and asking thoughtful questions

•      Like improving processes and making things more efficient
