Job Function: To effectively perform all hands-on duties of Production Manager in an efficient manner following company policies and procedures. To manage the Production Manufacturing department to ensure that all day-to-day operations run smoothly. To ensure that all efforts contribute to the best financial interest of Transpacific Food.


DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Specific

  • Responsible for overseeing all scheduling of Production and Fill Room employees
  • Responsible for batch sheets, delivery tickets, receiving logs and BOLS
  • Responsible for communication with logistics re: the above
  • Responsible for coordinating inbound and outbound deliveries of all raw and finished product
  • Responsible for overseeing the hiring, orientation and training of food manufacturing personnel
  • Responsible for assigning roles to production staff according to their competence and work demand
  • Responsible for product integrity of all finished products leaving Transpacific Food
  • Responsible to ensure all plant personnel are trained and evaluated to comply with plant policy and standards
  • Responsible for setting and enforcing health/safety procedures and guidelines for manufacturing operation.
  • Responsible for keeping the plant “Inspection Audit Ready” at all times
  • Keep the plant in “6 –S” status at all times
  • Keeps an open line of communication with the CEO
  • Willing to be hands on in any aspect of production
  • Responsible for product integrity of all raw material arriving at TPF
  • Ensure incoming raw materials weights, matching to release, checking against BOL, and Product Reconciliation
  • Must attend safety meetings
  • Ensure that Production employees are properly trained and using Chemicals properly per SSOP’s


General

  • Follow and enforce all GMP and Transpacific Food policies and procedures, food safety
  • Maintain a high work ethic
  • Be a Change Agent
  • Keep open line of communication with dispatch, peers, supervisors, departments and management
  • Manages the progress of efficiencies and the handling process of all products on a daily basis
  • Monitors and administers any discipline that may occur in partnership with Human Resources
  • Enforce all policies and procedures
  • Assist in development and implementation of any new process or policy
  • Communicate with CEO and keep associates informed of problems or achievements
  • Conduct internal or external inspections as needed
  • Assist in supervision of hourly employees as needed
  • Suggest ideas or solution to improve efficiencies, housekeeping, etc.
  • Responsible for reporting any food safety concern and empowered to do so
  • Cleanliness and organization is a key component to your success, as well as the safety of yourself and others. It is required of each employee to maintain the areas they are responsible for in a clean and organized manner at all times
  • Be a team player. Help in other areas of the Plant as needed
  • Lead subordinates by example with regards to performance, neatness, safety, reliability and following Company policies
  • All other duties as assigned

TRAINING REQUIREMENTS Individual must complete the following training according to QP-291:

1) New Employee Food Safety Training: Once prior to starting work

2) Training Modules 2-6: annually

3) Refresher Training: as needed according to QP-291, 6.0

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and five years of responsible experience in food production; or an acceptable equivalent combination of education and experience. Good skill in the use of hand and power tools. LANGUAGE SKILLS Ability to read and comprehend instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write effective correspondence and communicate. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to other employees of the organization. MATHEMATICAL SKILLS Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to interpret miscellaneous drawings and schematics. CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS HACCP, SQF, PCQI, Driver’s License
