Position Summary

The Marketing & Brand Engagement Executive is responsible for elevating Curtin Dubai’s market positioning from a standard academic provider to a recognised “industry-integrated” authority. This role focuses on the strategic intersection of content production and public relations. The incumbent will be tasked with building “earned media” equity and optimising the student recruitment funnel through advanced brand storytelling and stakeholder engagement.

Responsibilities

Digital growth and social media management

  • Organic performance ownership: Take full accountability for organic social media growth by implementing a “video-first” strategy to increase reach and engagement across all channels.
  • Platform management: Execute comprehensive social media platform management, including content calendar planning, post scheduling, publishing, and community management.
  • Performance monitoring: Monitor and track progress for visual media across all social platforms and YouTube to review & assess material performance.
  • Digital event promotion: Create and maintain event pages on social media and websites, engaging directly with online audiences to drive event attendance.
  • Community intelligence: Manage proactive community engagement by monitoring brand sentiment on external forums such as Reddit, Quora, and Google reviews to steer the brand narrative.
  • Ambassador leadership: Recruit, train, and manage a high-performing student brand ambassador program to scale authentic content production.
  • Competitor intelligence: Provide monthly tactical reports on competitor scholarship shifts, messaging, and event strategies to enable agile marketing pivots.
  • Event coverage and coordination: Coordinate video and event coverage in collaboration with the senior brand executive, freelancers, and interns.
  • Strategic influencer marketing: Identify, vet, and manage influencer partnerships strategically to amplify institutional prestige and drive authentic, conversion-led engagement among prospective students and parents.

Brand authority and industry integration

  • Strategic content creation: Design and execute the ‘education-to-industry’ content framework by mapping current industry trends to the university’s academic curriculum.
  • Lead magnet development: Develop reports and digital guides designed to capture high-intent postgraduate and undergraduate leads.
  • High-level stakeholder engagement: Identify and interview C-suite executives, industry guests, and high-achieving alumni to produce “thought leadership” assets.
  • Multimedia production: Lead the end-to-end production of video assets for social media and YouTube, including scripting, hosting, and overseeing editing.

Public relations and earned media

  • Media pitching: Actively secure organic media placements, radio segments, and guest expert slots for university faculty in local UAE news outlets.
  • Strategic partnerships: Negotiate collaborative content opportunities with Dubai-based industry hubs, including DIFC, DMCC, and companies within the university’s innovation hub to enhance brand visibility.

RELATIONSHIPS

  • Reports to and works under the guidance of the Marketing & Outreach Manager.

Qualifications And Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Media, Journalism, Business, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
  • 2–5 years of experience in marketing, brand engagement, content creation, or communications (experience within higher education or professional services is an advantage).
  • Strong hands‑on experience managing social media platforms, digital campaigns, and content calendars.
  • Proven capability in video‑led content creation, including scripting, on‑camera presentation, and collaboration with editors.
  • Experience in earned media, PR outreach, or influencer partnerships is highly desirable.
  • Strong analytical mindset with the ability to interpret performance metrics and translate insights into action.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects, stakeholders, and deadlines in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Familiarity with the UAE education or media landscape is an advantage.

LOCATION AND WORK ENVIRONMENT

  • This position is a full-time on-campus role based in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.
