Position Summary
The Electrical Engineering Intern will support hands-on R&D activities including schematic design, PCB layout, prototype development, testing, and electrical troubleshooting. This role offers direct exposure to product development in a regulated medical device environment.
This internship is ideal for students who enjoy building, testing, debugging, and working closely with hardware systems.

Key Responsibilities
Electrical Design & Development
- Assist with electrical schematic design
- Support PCB layout and board revisions
- Contribute to cable design and documentation
- Assist with prototype assembly and development
- Develop and execute electrical test procedures
- Collect and document test data
- Use DMMs and oscilloscopes for debugging and validation
- Support electrical rework and troubleshooting activities
- Perform soldering, including through-hole and surface mount components
- Assist with board bring-up and functional testing
- Support lab organization and equipment setup
- Collaborate with Mechanical, Software, and Systems Engineers
- Opportunity to observe or participate in hands-on clinical lab activities if interested
- Real-world PCB design and development workflows
- Prototype-to-product development processes
- Electrical testing and validation in a regulated environment
- Cross-functional collaboration in medical device R&D
- Exposure to clinical applications of engineered systems
- Pursuing a degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering
- College Freshman, Sophomore, or Junior
- Knowledge of electrical circuits (completion of Circuits I & II preferred)
- Soldering experience
- Experience using a DMM and/or oscilloscope
- Strong desire to learn and gain hands-on experience
- Experience with Altium Designer or other PCB design software
- Surface mount soldering experience
- Cable building experience
- Basic coding knowledge (Python, C)
