Position Summary
The Biomedical Engineering Intern will support a range of technical activities including test engineering, clinical lab support, circuit board calibration, equipment assembly, software setup, and data analysis. This role offers hands-on experience at the intersection of engineering and biomedical science within a regulated medical device environment.
This internship is ideal for students who enjoy both lab work and technical system development.

This role provides exposure to both engineering systems and clinical laboratory environments, allowing interns to apply multidisciplinary coursework in a real-world medical device setting with meaningful clinical impact.

Key Responsibilities
Test Engineering & System Support
- Assist with test engineering activities and protocol execution
- Support circuit board calibration and verification
- Assist with equipment assembly and system configuration
- Support software setup and system troubleshooting
- Provide support within the clinical lab environment
- Assist with experiment setup and execution
- Maintain accurate documentation of procedures and results
- Analyze experimental and system performance data
- Support development or modification of software tools
- Utilize programming tools such as MATLAB, Python, or LabVIEW
- Contribute to documentation and reporting of findings
- Work alongside engineering, research, and clinical teams
- Follow quality and safety protocols
- Participate in troubleshooting and problem-solving discussions
- How biomedical systems integrate hardware, software, and laboratory processes
- Fundamentals of medical device testing and calibration
- Data analysis in a regulated engineering environment
- Practical application of programming tools in biomedical contexts
- Cross-functional collaboration within product development and research
- Pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Biomedical Engineering
- College Junior or Senior
- Completion of a minimum of three lab-based courses (at least one wet lab required)
- Coursework in chemistry and biology
- Experience with software tools such as MATLAB, Python, or LabVIEW
- Strong documentation skills and attention to detail
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively
