Electrical Technician - November Start

General Purpose of Position:

The Electrical Technician supports the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and improvement of electrical and automation systems used in solar module manufacturing. This position works with PLCs, sensors, motors, drives, control panels, industrial networks, and related equipment to maximize production uptime, reliability, safety, and efficiency.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

• Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair electrical and automation systems, including PLCs, motor drives, sensors, control panels, motors, and related production equipment.
• Perform preventive maintenance and respond promptly to equipment failures to minimize production downtime.
• Diagnose electrical and automation issues, conduct root-cause analysis, and implement corrective actions for recurring problems.
• Troubleshoot PLC-controlled equipment, electrical circuits, motor controls, drives, sensors, and industrial control systems.
• Support automation system improvements, equipment upgrades, and new technology integration to improve production efficiency and reliability.
• Assist with installation, testing, commissioning, and startup of new equipment and electrical or automation upgrades.
• Monitor equipment and system performance and recommend improvements based on downtime, reliability, and production data.
• Collaborate with Production, Engineering, Maintenance, and Quality teams to resolve equipment issues and support production requirements.
• Maintain accurate records of preventive maintenance, repairs, electrical modifications, PLC or automation changes, and equipment performance.
• Read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, blueprints, and technical documentation.
• Follow electrical safety procedures, Lockout/Tagout requirements, company policies, and applicable regulatory standards.
• Participate in equipment risk assessments, safety inspections, and continuous improvement activities.
• Provide emergency or after-hours technical support when required based on production needs.

Requirements:

• Technical training or practical experience in automation, electrical technology, electronics, mechatronics, industrial controls, or a related field.
• 3 years of experience supporting industrial automation, controls, electrical systems, or automated manufacturing equipment.
• Hands-on experience troubleshooting PLC-controlled equipment, sensors, motors, drives, alarms, and interlocks.
• Ability to read electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, control drawings, and technical manuals.
• Ability to safely use electrical meters, programming devices, diagnostic software, and hand tools.
• Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, communication, and documentation skills.

Training &/or Experience Preferred:

• Technical diploma, certificate, or Engineering degree is a plus.
• Experience with Siemens, Allen-Bradley/Rockwell, or similar PLC platforms.
• Experience with HMIs, VFDs, servo systems, industrial sensors, machine vision, and safety controls.
• Familiarity with Profinet, Profibus, EtherNet/IP, Modbus, SCADA, MES, or similar industrial systems.
• Experience in solar, semiconductors, electronics, automotive, automated assembly, or other advanced manufacturing environments.
• Experience with equipment commissioning, production ramp-up, or automation upgrades.
• NFPA 70E, OSHA, Lockout/Tagout, Siemens, Rockwell, CAP, or related certifications preferred.

Special Requirements:

· Strong industrial electrical and automation troubleshooting skills.

· Ability to read electrical schematics and use diagnostic tools.

· Familiarity with HMIs, SCADA systems, and industrial networks preferred.

· Strong problem-solving, communication, and documentation skills.

· Ability to work independently and as part of a cross-functional team.

· Ability to work safely around electrical equipment and wear required PPE.

· Strong commitment to safety, quality, equipment reliability, and continuous improvement.
