CNC Machinist Job Description
Job Summary
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in machining and programming, with a focus on precision and quality. As a CNC Machinist, you will be responsible for operating CNC machines to fabricate components according to specifications, ensuring that all products meet our high standards of quality and efficiency.
Responsibilities
- Operate CNC milling machines and other machining equipment to produce parts from various materials, including stainless, aluminum and plastics.
- Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications to determine machining operations.
- Utilize precision measuring instruments such as micrometers and calipers to ensure accurate dimensions.
- Program CNC machines using appropriate software to create efficient machining processes.
- Conduct routine maintenance on machinery and troubleshoot any issues that arise during production.
- Assemble components as needed, ensuring proper fit and function of parts.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area in compliance with safety standards.
Skills
- Proficient in CNC programming and operation of milling machines.
- Determine setup procedures, tooling requirements, control settings, machining methods and sequences.
- Select, align and secure fixtures, cutting tools and attachments.
- Program or Upload programs to machine controller and adjust programs as required.
- Adjust factors in the program such as cutting depth, speed and feed as needed.
- Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to troubleshoot machinery effectively.
- Familiarity with fabrication techniques and the ability to assemble components accurately.
- Detail-oriented with excellent problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication skills for effective teamwork.
