Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Carrier Sales Representative role based in Indianapolis, IN. The Carrier Sales Representative will build and maintain strong relationships with carrier partners, negotiate rates, and secure capacity for customer shipments across multiple modes. Daily responsibilities include prospecting new carriers, managing a carrier portfolio, tracking and tracing loads, resolving service issues, and ensuring on-time pick-up and delivery. The role also involves collaborating closely with internal sales and operations teams, updating transportation management systems, and communicating shipment status to stakeholders. The successful candidate will work in a fast-paced environment, balancing cost, service, and reliability to support TransJet Cargo’s customers and network.
Qualifications
- Experience in carrier sales, freight brokerage, or LTL/ Drayage and OTR/ FTL with a strong understanding of North American logistics and transportation markets.
- Proficiency in building and managing carrier relationships, including negotiating rates, securing capacity, and maintaining a reliable carrier network.
- Strong communication, customer service, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to handle time-sensitive issues and collaborate with internal and external partners.
- Solid organizational, multitasking, and problem-solving abilities, including managing multiple shipments, monitoring KPIs, and resolving service disruptions.
- Comfort with transportation management systems, basic data entry, and using digital tools (email, spreadsheets, messaging platforms) to manage day-to-day operations.
- High level of integrity, accountability, and attention to detail, with a focus on safety, compliance, and service quality.
- Prior experience in a 3PL, brokerage, or asset-based trucking environment is strongly preferred; knowledge of temperature-controlled freight is a plus.
