Cook / Dietary Aide Responsibilities
As a Cook/Dietary Aide, you will help ensure residents receive nutritious, appetizing meals while maintaining the highest standards of food quality, safety, and sanitation.
Responsibilities include:
- Prepare, portion, and serve meals, beverages, and snacks for regular and therapeutic diets according to planned menus and physician-ordered dietary requirements.
- Assist with food preparation, meal service, and kitchen operations as assigned.
- Follow all food handling, storage, labeling, temperature monitoring, and sanitation procedures in accordance with facility policies and regulatory requirements.
- Properly store and dispose of food items to maintain food safety standards.
- Clean and sanitize kitchen equipment, workstations, dining areas, dishes, and utensils using approved cleaning procedures and chemicals.
- Assist with receiving, stocking, and organizing food and kitchen supplies.
- Work collaboratively with the Dietary Manager and interdisciplinary team to provide excellent service to residents.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized kitchen environment while following all infection prevention and workplace safety guidelines.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- Previous experience in healthcare, long-term care, food service, or commercial kitchen environments preferred, but not required.
- Knowledge of safe food handling and sanitation practices preferred.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong customer service skills and a commitment to providing exceptional care and hospitality to residents.
