Schedule: 1 day/week on-site, minimum 4 paid hours per week


Classification: 1099 Independent Contractor


About the Role


Transitions Addiction Medicine Group is seeking a licensed Physician (MD/DO) or Nurse Practitioner (NP) with a background in Addiction Medicine or Family Medicine to provide on-site clinical coverage one day per week at a residential treatment facility in Wasilla, Alaska.

This is an excellent opportunity for a provider looking to supplement their practice with meaningful, flexible work supporting individuals in early recovery.


What You'll Do

  • Conduct on-site patient visits one day per week at the residential facility (minimum 4 hours paid, regardless of time required on site)
  • Manage medication-assisted treatment (MAT) protocols, including buprenorphine, naltrexone, or other medications for the treatment of substance use disorders
  • Evaluate and manage co-occurring medical conditions and withdrawal symptoms
  • Coordinate care with facility clinical staff, counselors, and case managers
  • Maintain accurate, timely documentation in compliance with state and facility requirements
  • Provide medical oversight and consultation to nursing/support staff as needed
  • Ensure care delivery aligns with best practices in addiction medicine and applicable regulatory standards
  • There is a supervising physician and a medical director for the facility, with regular on call availability during the rest of the week for support and to complete new intakes


Qualifications

  • Current, unrestricted Alaska license as a Physician (MD/DO) or Nurse Practitioner
  • Board certification or eligibility in or Addiction Medicine or Family Medicine preferred
  • DEA registration required
  • Training and experience in addiction medicine or with a population with substance use disorders strongly preferred
  • Comfortable working independently in a residential / community-based clinical setting
  • Reliable transportation to the Wasilla facility
  • Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with a multidisciplinary treatment team


Compensation & Terms

  • 1099 Independent Contractor position
  • Minimum of 4 paid hours paid per week
  • Competitive hourly rate, commensurate with experience and licensure (details provided upon application)
  • Flexible scheduling within facility operating needs
