Requirements:The Dietary Aide assists in the preparation, delivery, and service of meals to residents according to individualized dietary orders and facility menus. This role ensures that residents receive nutritious meals safely while maintaining a clean, sanitary, and welcoming dining environment.
Key Responsibilities

Assist in preparing meals according to the facility’s menu and specific dietary orders (e.g., diabetic, low-sodium, mechanical soft).

Set up and deliver meal trays to resident rooms or dining areas.

Monitor resident preferences and special needs, reporting any concerns to the Dietary Manager or nursing staff.

Assist residents with meal service when needed, including feeding support for those requiring assistance.

Maintain proper food storage and rotation practices.

Clean and sanitize kitchen equipment, dining areas, and utensils in compliance with health and safety standards.

Follow infection control protocols, including hand hygiene and personal protective equipment (PPE) use.
Report food shortages, safety issues, or resident concerns promptly to supervisor. -
Provide courteous and compassionate service to residents, supporting a positive dining experience.
Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

Previous experience in healthcare or food service preferred but not required.

Knowledge of food preparation, sanitation, and safety standards.

Ability to follow oral and written instructions accurately.

Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Physical ability to stand for extended periods, lift up to 25–50 lbs., and assist residents if needed.

Must pass background checks and comply with facility infection control policies.
