Part-time opportunity available in Wallingford, PA
As a Support Service Professional (SSP), you will partner with a person living with autism on a 1:1 basis to live a life of their choosing, in their own home and community. The SSP role consists of assisting, supporting and guiding in the general areas of self-care, health maintenance, decision making, communication, and transportation, relationship development and socialization, behavior management in their home and while participating in community functions and activities.
Currently seeking support for an active young man who is looking for engaging, patient, motivated people to work with him!
Must be willing to encourage independence while knowing when and how to adapt to someone who needs support managing emotions and behaviors, while guiding, instructing and teaching. They are looking for reliable, trustworthy and consistent staff who are clear and consistent communicators. Must have a vehicle as they will need support in the local community taking part in activities of their choosing.
A priority for the SSP will be to prioritize the health and safety of this individual in all settings.
The work is community based, meaning you are working in the home and local community of the person you support. Often you will interact with family members, your co-workers and other support team members, so respect and accountability are key. Candidates should be able and want to assist with daily living skills, building community relationships, problem solving and planning.
Requirements for the job:
· Applicant will have a minimum of two years of experience working with people with intellectual disabilities and autism. , including young adults.. Experience with Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) a PLUS, but not required.
· Applicant must have one of the following certifications or degrees: a four-year college degree in Psychology, Education, Special Education, Counseling or Social Work, or a closely related degree (e.g., Human Services); or current NADD competency based professional certification; or be a registered behavior technician or board-certified assistant behavior analyst.
For above, don’t they need a degree for enhanced? Then could do NADD if they have non-related degree, but have experience?
· Client enjoys long walks at a fast pace, so fitness is a must.
· Driver’s license and reliable transportation (car with registration, inspection & insurance).
· Ability to pass pre-employment criminal background screening and drug screening.

Wage: $35-37 per hour depending on experience, miles when transporting person .62/mile.
Hours: Monday, Tuesday and Thursday 10:00A-2:00P
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $35.00 - $37.00 per hour
