Position Overview:
SGL is seeking a skilled Regional Customer Quote Specialist to join our team. We’re looking for a highly motivated, passionate, and experienced professional who will play a key role in developing competitive pricing strategies and fostering strong relationships with station managers. This position will collaborate closely with the Sales team to support and manage high-volume opportunity requests across the North America region. The successful candidate will be based in Elizabeth, NJ and will support the Boston, MA and Philadelphia, PA offices.
Job Responsibilities:
- Develop competitive, accurate price proposals for the SGL network using pricing models, market intelligence, and additional input from relevant stakeholders
- Implement pricing strategies to maximize profitability and market share.
- Stay up-to-date and analyze market trends and customer requirements to set competitive rates.
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of pricing strategies and adjust as needed
- Collaborate with product and operational teams to ensure alignment on pricing strategies.
- Prepare and present pricing reports and analysis to the air freight product team
- Build and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders in operation and management
- Ensure compliance with company policies, industry regulations, and legal requirements
- Work hand in hand with the North American operations team to ensure smooth handover from pricing to operations.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in pricing, logistics, or freight forwarding operations or sales.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Entrepreneurial mindset and willingness to learn
- Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
- High attention to detail.
- Strong sense of urgency and aptitude to work under pressure.
- Excellent communication and negotiation abilities.
- Ability to work independently or as a flexible team player.
- Proficiency Microsoft Office Suite – focus on MS Excel
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times.
Work authorization/security clearance requirements:
- Must be eligible to work in the United States
- Must pass TSA eligibility screening
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $70,000 to $75,000 Annually
Schedule: 8-hour shift (Monday to Friday)
Work Location: Elizabeth, NJ (Flexible)
