Position Overview
The STEAM Instructor designs and delivers engaging, hands-on learning experiences that promote curiosity, creativity, and innovation across science, technology, engineering, arts, and mathematics (STEAM) disciplines. This position facilitates classes, workshops, and camps for learners of all ages, ensuring programs are inclusive, accessible, and aligned with educational standards and the Bledsoe-Miller STEAM Center’s mission.
STEAM Instructors also support curriculum planning, materials management, and learner evaluation to maintain high-quality instruction and participant satisfaction.
Evening and weekend availability is required to support programs and events.

STEAM Center Executive Director Part-Time, Non-ExemptKey Responsibilities
- Design and facilitate interactive STEAM-based classes, workshops, and camps for youth, families, and community participants.
- Deliver instruction in both classroom and hands-on learning environments, fostering creativity and inquiry-based learning.
- Adapt lessons and teaching methods for intergenerational and inclusive learning settings.
- Support curriculum planning and alignment with STEAM learning outcomes and educational standards.
- Manage classroom materials and equipment, ensuring safe and organized instructional spaces.
- Assist in learner evaluation, including attendance tracking, feedback collection, and outcome reporting.
- Collaborate with fellow instructors and staff to enhance programming and share best practices.
- Participate in training and professional development to maintain and grow instructional expertise.
- Represent the STEAM Center positively in interactions with students, families, and community partners.
- Perform other related duties as assigned to support program success and operational needs.
Education and Experience
Required: Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Education, STEM field, Arts, or related discipline; experience teaching or facilitating hands-on educational programs, workshops, or camps.
Preferred: Experience in informal or community learning environments (e.g., museums, afterschool programs, enrichment camps); familiarity with inquiry-based and project-based learning methods; knowledge of TEKS or other educational standards.
