Transdev in Colorado Springs, Colorado is hiring a Utility Lead. The Utility Lead is responsible for overseeing and supporting the daily operations of a team of Utility Workers, ensuring vehicles are serviced efficiently and according to company standards. This position plays a key leadership role in maintaining fleet readiness, safety, and cleanliness while fostering a positive and productive team environment.

  • Competitive compensation package of minimum $17.50/hr – Maximum $18.12/hr.

Benefits include:

  • Vacation: minimum of 80 hours

  • Sick days: Employees will accrue paid sick leave at a rate that complies with Colorado law, up to 48 hours per year.

  • Holidays: 64 hours; 32 floating

  • Other standard benefits: 401(k) retirement plan, medical, dental and vision, life insurance, short-term disability, voluntary long-term disability.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead, coordinate, and support Utility Workers and the Utility Supervisor during assigned shifts.

  • Maintain the cleanliness of fleet vehicles – interior and exterior – by ensuring team adherence to cleaning schedules and standards.

  • Drive, maneuver, and park vehicles as needed.

  • Fuel buses, replenish fluids, and ensure proper logging and recording of all fluids used.

  • Perform and assign light maintenance to shop areas, fueling stations, and related facilities.

  • Monitor safety procedures and report maintenance or safety issues to the supervisor.

  • Ensure team compliance with company policies, safety protocols, and operational standards.

  • Assist with training new Utility Workers and provide on-the-job guidance.

  • Maintain shift logs, complete required documentation, and communicate operational updates to management.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent

  • Valid driver's license for a minimum of 3 years

  • Prior experience as a Utility Worker or similar role preferred.

  • Demonstrated ability to lead or coordinate a small team.

  • Strong communication skills and a commitment to safety and service.

  • Must be able to work shifts or flexible work schedules as needed.

  • Subject to a DOT drug testing and physical if applicable. DOT Regulation 49 CFR Part 40 does not authorize the use of Schedule I drugs, including cannabis, for any reason.

Physical Requirements:

The essential functions of this position require the ability to:

  • Work outside in varying temperature, weather, and humidity conditions-100% of the job is performed outside, work alone and in remote locations.

  • Frequently walk for long distances and on possible sloped ground or slippery and uneven surfaces

  • Push and pull objects up to 50 pounds, occasionally throughout the workday; lift material weighing up to 50 lbs. with or without assistance; occasionally bend, kneel, or crouch to files or equipment stored at ground level

  • Withstand heavy traffic areas while performing the duties of the job; tolerate exposure to considerable amounts of dust, vehicle fumes and noise.
