Technician

Transdev in Cuba, NY is seeking an A, B or C-Level Diesel Mechanic to bolster our team. This role demands expertise in diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining diesel engines across various vehicles and equipment. As a Diesel Mechanic, you'll play a crucial role in ensuring safety, efficiency, and longevity for our vehicles.

• $24.42-$26.75 Depending on Grade Level (Union Collective Bargaining Agreement Payscale)

• Personal Days- 2 per year

• Vacation: 1 week at 1 year of full time employment, 2 weeks at 2 years, 3 weeks and 5 years and 4 weeks at 10 years.

• Company paid ASE testing, training materials, and tool, show and safety glasses reimbursement.

• A technician must become master certified in one of the primary categories before they are eligible for pay increases on a secondary set of ASE tests. (Transit, Heavy truck, or automotive for tec c only)

• You will receive $0.15 /hour premium per primary ASE test passed in the technician’s chosen category. $0.20 per hour master certified premium once all tests in the technician’s chosen category have been passed. Once Master Certified the tech will receive $0.25 per hour premium on all other ASE tests that have been passed.(Certifications that are allowed to expire will result in loss of premiums.)

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform repairs and replacements on diesel engines, ensuring optimal functionality.

• Assist A-Level and B-Level Mechanics in advanced diagnostic and repair tasks, contributing to efficient workflow.

• Execute routine maintenance tasks to prevent breakdowns and optimize diesel engine performance.

• Lead diagnostic tests to accurately identify complex issues and determine comprehensive repair strategies for diesel engines.

• Perform advanced troubleshooting and repair tasks on diesel engines, including overhauling and rebuilding components to required specifications.

• Other duties as required.

Qualifications:

• 1 years of experience as a Diesel Mechanic.

• Applicants must have held a valid driver's license for a minimum of three years.

• ASE certifications required; ASE certification program provided

• Mechanic’s Tool Set

• CDL B with appropriate endorsements (We train for CDL)

• Subject to a DOT drug testing and physical if applicable. DOT Regulation 49 CFR Part 40 does not authorize the use of Schedule I drugs, including cannabis, for any reason.

Physical Requirements:

• Must be able to work shifts or flexible work schedules as needed.

• The employee is generally subjected to long periods spent sitting, typing, or looking at a computer screen.

• Work environment will be a combination of both indoors and outdoors.
