Cash Clerk - Paratransit

Transdev in Las Vegas, Nevada is hiring a Cash Clerk. The cash clerk will be the backbone of our daily cash cycle. The ideal candidate possesses an unwavering commitment to numerical accuracy, strong organizational instincts, and a proactive attitude toward resolving discrepancies. We are seeking customer service-oriented professionals who are dedicated to safety.

Position Subject to Collective Bargaining Agreement:

$22.50/hr - $27.20/hr (Union Collective Bargaining Agreement Payscale)

Starting pay $22.50/hr with progression to $27.20/hr over 6 years

Benefits include:

• Vacation: up to 14 days per year
• Paid Sick Leave: 8 hrs monthly full-time employees/ 5 hrs monthly part- time employees

Key Responsibilities:

• Receive, collect, and document transit vaults and other fare-related materials.
• Sort and process cash, coupons, and other fare media.
• Empty transit vaults into computerized coin-counting machines and operate money-counting equipment, monitoring for malfunctions.
• Count, calculate, and verify funds received, ensuring all transactions are accurately tracked and recorded.
• Separate currency for bank deposits and prepare deposits in accordance with established procedures.
• Maintain accurate records of receipts and deposits, reconciling physical counts with computer-generated data.
• Complete administrative tasks, data-tracking documents, and reports related to fare processing and deposits.
• Follow established security procedures when handling cash and fare media.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• A high school diploma or equivalent, such as GED, is required.
• 2 or more years of experience in handling money and/or clerical accounting experience
• Ability to comprehend, interpret, and apply general business procedures.
• Good written and oral communication skills
• Ability to work with, analyze, and interpret basic computer information with software applications such as Microsoft Word.
• Subject to a DOT drug testing and physical if applicable. DOT Regulation 49 CFR Part 40 does not authorize the use of Schedule I drugs, including cannabis, for any reason.
