Bus Monitor Plattsburgh, NY We are currently on the lookout for an experienced Bus Monitor to join our elite team in Plattsburgh, NY. As a key member, you will be entrusted with ensuring safe and comfortable transportation for our passengers, while upholding the highest standards of professionalism and customer service. Transdev is proud to offer: Non-CBA Position: Competitive compensation package of minimum $16.69 – Maximum $17.69 per hour Benefits include: Part-Time role; no benefits offered 8 Holidays Key Responsibilities: Knows the route and remains alert to monitor the welfare of passengers while in route. Keeps order on the bus. Communicates behavior problems and conditions of various stops with the driver. Cooperates and communicates with school personnel, parents and students. Assists in pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the bus utilizing Zonar technology, including child checks. Assists students in the loading and unloading process. Cooperates and communicates with school personnel, students, and parents. Attends all safety and training meetings. Conducts emergency evacuation from the bus, including use of exiting by emergency door. Opens and closes service doors and moves up and down steps multiple times daily. Other duties as required Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent Excellent communication & customer service skills. Attention to detail Good judgement/problem solving skills Ability to manage high degrees of stress Commitment to safety Must be able to work shifts or flexible work schedules as needed. Physical Requirements: The essential functions of this position require the ability to: Work outside in varying temperature, weather, and humidity conditions-100% of the job is performed outside, work alone and in remote locations. Sit for extended periods (up to 6–8 hours per day); frequently walk for long distances and on possible sloped ground or slippery and uneven surfaces Push and pull objects up to 50 pounds, occasionally throughout the workday; lift material weighing up to 50 lbs. with or without assistance; occasionally bend, kneel, or crouch to files or equipment stored at ground level Withstand heavy traffic areas while performing the duties of the job; tolerate exposure to considerable amounts of dust, vehicle fumes and noise.
