Autonomous Vehicle Tester

Overview

Transdev is hiring Autonomous Vehicle Testers for our Autonomous Vehicle team in our San Antonio Depot!

This position offers a competitive hourly rate of $21, with no prior experience required, paid training and a comprehensive benefits package!

What You’ll Do

• Operate and monitor autonomous vehicles for 6-8 hours per shift, 5 days a week
• Support safe AV performance by observing, documenting and reporting vehicle behavior
• Communicate effectively with internal teams and the public
• Maintain awareness of real-time vehicle and system conditions
• Provide feedback on system performance and assist with testing protocols
• Ensure compliance with safety, confidentiality and operational procedures
• Interact professionally with riders and educate the public about autonomous technology
• Travel up to 10% as needed for training or support

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of experience driving on public roads
• High school diploma or GED required
• Valid Driver’s License
• Able to type 40 WPM and use smartphones, tablets, and laptops
• Strong attention to detail and situational awareness
• Comfortable working independently and in small teams
• Able to work flexible shifts, including nights, weekends and overnights
• Excellent communication, multitasking and problem-solving skills

Physical Requirements

• Ability to sit for extended periods and occasionally lift up to 45 lbs
• Work includes both indoor and outdoor environments, in various weather conditions
