Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled Heavy Conveyor Belt Technician to install, maintain, and repair heavy-duty conveyor belt systems used in industrial environments such as mining, manufacturing, and bulk material handling. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience with conveyor systems, strong mechanical aptitude, and a commitment to safety and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
- Install, splice, and vulcanize heavy conveyor belts
- Inspect conveyor systems to identify wear, damage, or misalignment
- Perform preventative maintenance to minimize downtime
- Troubleshoot and repair mechanical issues quickly and effectively
- Replace rollers, pulleys, bearings, and other conveyor components
- Ensure proper belt tracking and tensioning
- Follow all safety procedures and regulations on-site
- Maintain accurate maintenance and repair records
- Work in physically demanding conditions, including outdoor and industrial environments
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent (technical certification preferred)
- 2 years of experience working with conveyor belt systems (heavy-duty preferred)
- Knowledge of belt splicing techniques (mechanical and vulcanized)
- Strong understanding of mechanical systems and tools
- Ability to read and interpret technical diagrams and manuals
- Willingness to travel to job sites as needed
- Ability to lift heavy materials and work at heights or in confined spaces
Preferred Skills:
- Experience in mining, quarry, or aggregate industries
- OSHA/MSHA safety training or certification
- Welding or fabrication skills
- Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail
