Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and compassionate Director of Nursing Services to lead and oversee all nursing operations within our healthcare facility. Responsibilities

  • Lead and coordinate all nursing activities to ensure the delivery of high-quality resident care aligned with regulatory standards such as Medicare and HIPAA.
  • Supervise nursing staff including nurse managers, registered nurses (RNs), licensed practical nurses (LPNs), and certified nursing assistants (CNAs), fostering a collaborative and motivated team environment.
  • Develop, review, and update individualized care plans for residents, ensuring they meet medical needs and comply with federal and state regulations.
  • Oversee the management of medical records and documentation review using Electronic Medical Record (EMR) and Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems to maintain accuracy, confidentiality, and compliance.
  • Ensure proper administration of medications, treatments, and procedures in accordance with medical terminology and physiology knowledge.
  • Monitor shift management to optimize staffing levels, improve workflow efficiency, and ensure continuous resident supervision.
  • Conduct regular audits of medical records and documentation to uphold documentation standards and regulatory compliance.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including physicians, therapists, social workers, and administrative staff to coordinate comprehensive care services.
  • Maintain expertise in Medicare regulations, care standards for assisted living, nursing homes, home health agencies, hospice care, and acute care environments.
  • Promote a culture of safety by implementing policies that adhere to HIPAA guidelines while safeguarding residents’ personal health information.
  • Lead quality improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing resident satisfaction and operational efficiency.

Skills

  • Extensive experience in assisted living facilities, nursing homes, home health agencies or hospice care environments.
  • Proven leadership skills with supervising experience in nursing administration or nurse management roles.
  • Strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and the clinical aspects of resident care.
  • Proficiency in EMR/EHR systems for documentation review and medical records management.
  • Familiarity with MDS (Minimum Data Set) assessments used in long-term care settings to evaluate resident needs.
  • Ability to manage shift schedules effectively while maintaining high standards of care delivery.
  • Deep understanding of HIPAA regulations ensuring confidentiality and privacy of medical information.
  • Excellent communication skills for collaborating with multidisciplinary teams and training staff on best practices.
  • Knowledge of Medicare guidelines related to reimbursement and compliance requirements for healthcare services.
