JOB SUMMARY
The Vehicle Patrol Security Guard is responsible for conducting mobile patrols of client properties to deter criminal activity, ensure site safety, and enforce company and client policies. Operating a marked security vehicle, the patrol officer monitors multiple locations throughout a shift, checking for signs of unauthorized entry, suspicious activity, or safety hazards. This role requires strong observation and communication skills, the ability to respond quickly to incidents, and a commitment to maintaining a visible security presence. Candidates must hold a valid Arizona DPS Guard Card and a clean driving record.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Perform thorough security inspections across multiple locations to identify and report unsafe conditions, safety violations, hazards, and unauthorized individuals.
- Continuously monitor assigned properties to detect suspicious activity, unauthorized vehicles, trespassers, or loiterers, while maintaining a visible and professional security presence to deter potential threats.
- Identify and report maintenance concerns, such as inadequate lighting, malfunctioning equipment, and other potential risks to health, safety, or property.
- Prepare clear and accurate daily activity logs and incident reports detailing property damage, theft, unauthorized access, or other irregularities.
- Secure and preserve the scene in the event of accidents, emergencies, or security incidents; set up barriers and signage as needed and provide clear direction and information to affected individuals.
- Complete GPS-verified patrol routes and document findings using company-provided reporting systems and technology.
- Communicate incidents, concerns, and suspicious activity promptly to client representatives, site management, emergency responders, or law enforcement, as appropriate.
- Support overall site operations by performing related duties and responsibilities consistent with the scope of the position, as assigned.
- Perform additional duties as required in Post Orders and Message Boards.
QUALIFICATIONS/ATTRIBUTES
Minimum Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- Legally authorized to work in the United States and able to provide proof of eligibility
- Possession of a valid Arizona Department of Public Safety (DPS) Unarmed Guard Card
- Successful completion of a background check and drug screening
- Valid driver’s license with a clean Motor Vehicle Record
- Completion of all required online and on-the-job training
Additional Requirements & Clarifications
- At-Will Employment: Employment with Transcend Security is “At Will,” meaning it may be terminated by either party at any time, with or without cause or notice. Any reference to salary is for convenience only and does not imply a contract or guaranteed duration of employment.
- Driving Record Standards: A clean driving record is defined as having no more than three (3) points within a 12-month period.
- Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) Checks: Transcend Security will obtain updated Motor Vehicle Records from the Department of Motor Vehicles for all Patrol Drivers every six (6) months to ensure continued compliance with driving standards.
- Violation Reporting: Patrol Drivers must report any moving or non-moving traffic violations to Transcend Security within 72 hours of receiving the citation.
- Substance Screening: All Patrol Drivers operating company vehicles are subject to both routine and random alcohol and/or drug screenings.
- Responsibility for Citations: Patrol Drivers are personally responsible for any fines, citations, or fees resulting from moving or non-moving violations incurred while operating a company vehicle. If a violation is captured via photo enforcement, Transcend Security will provide the issuing authority with the driver’s identifying information.
