What are the responsibilities and job description for the Human Resources Manager position at TRANSAXLE MANUFACTURING OF AMERICA?
Summary: Plans and administers policies relating to all phases of human resources activity by performing the following duties personally or through subordinate supervisors.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following (but not limited to). Other duties may be assigned.
- Identifies legal requirements and government reporting regulations affecting human resources functions and ensures policies, procedures, and reporting are in compliance.
- Recruits, interviews, tests, and selects candidates to fill vacant positions.
- Plans and conducts new employee orientation to foster positive attitude toward company goals.
- Work with outside vendors to acquire and maintain welfare benefit plans. Keeps records of benefits plans participation such as insurance and pension plan, personnel transactions such as hires, promotions, transfers, performance reviews, and terminations, and employee statistics for government reporting.
- Coordinates management training in interviewing, hiring, terminations, promotions, performance review, and sexual harassment.
- Investigates employee complaints/concerns; uses the advice of legal counsel when necessary; and advises management in appropriate resolution of employee relations issues.
- Responds to inquiries regarding policies, procedures, and programs.
- Administers performance review program to ensure effectiveness, compliance, and equity within organization.
- Administers salary administration program to ensure compliance and equity within organization.
- Administers benefits programs such as life, health, dental and disability insurances, 401K plans, vacation, sick leave, leave of absence, and employee assistance.
- Acts as the 401K plan fiduciary and organizes the annual 5500 report.
- Conducts wage and salary surveys within labor market to determine competitive compensation.
- Prepares budget for human resources operations.
- Prepares employee separation notices and related documentation, and conducts exit interviews to determine reasons behind separations.
- Prepares reports and recommends procedures to reduce absenteeism and turnover.
- Represents organization at personnel-related hearings and investigations.
- Contracts with outside suppliers to provide employee services, such as transportation or relocation service.
- Works with Sr. Management staff to keep the need for diversity in the forefront and helps ensure that workforce is representative of local area
- Helps plan and implement the overall organization communication plan so that all employees are fully aware of business status, needs, and their roles in helping the business meet its goals
- Leads efforts in developing and implementing employee training through work with managers, supervisors, and employees.
- Works with Sr. Management staff on employee development activities including succession planning, leadership development, career development, and other employee development processes.
Qualifications:
QUALIFICATIONS: : Bachelor’s degree with five to ten years related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Professional SHRM and/or HRCI certification preferred.
