GOJET AIRLINES - FLEET SUPPORT COORDINATOR
LOCATION - ST. LOUIS, MO
The Fleet Support Coordinator plays a critical role in ensuring the safety, reliability, and efficiency of aircraft operations by overseeing maintenance, troubleshooting, and coordinating solutions for recurring and complex mechanical issues. This position collaborates closely with Maintenance Control, Engineering, and other operational teams to manage aircraft discrepancies, optimize maintenance workflows, and support timely aircraft recovery. The coordinator also monitors repeat maintenance trends, directs maintenance activities, and contributes to process improvements that enhance overall fleet performance and dispatch reliability.
QUALIFICATIONS/MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
- Possess a valid FAA Airframe and Powerplant Certificate.
- Have background in aircraft maintenance and experience consisting of formal and informal systems training and actual line experience with aircraft and engine troubleshooting; dispatch requirements; tools; ground support equipment; technical reports and forms, manuals, catalogs, and work practices.
- Good communication skills and able to read and write fluently in the English language.
- Have a minimum of five (5) years’ experience in aircraft maintenance, with a minimum of two (2) years’ experience in a supervisory role.
- Complete CRJ FAM training within thirty (30) days of being hired or have previous equivalent
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Fleet Support Coordinator reports to the Manager, Fleet Reliability. Specific duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Ensure safety is the first consideration in all operations and must report any genuine safety hazard that could foreseeably cause or contribute to an aircraft accident as defined by SMSF 0-0.2 in accordance with airline policy. (SMSF 1-1.3)
- Responsible for using the corrective action processes for pending, chronic, or grounding aircraft discrepancies. Assist maintenance in troubleshooting the above type issues including difficult to resolve AOG aircraft. (GMM4 3-4, GMM4 CH 4)
- In coordination with Maintenance Control, the Fleet Support Coordinators have the authority to direct Company and On-Call maintenance providers at all work locations to ensure compliance with the below responsibilities. Maintenance instructions generated and scheduled by this position can only be changed by the Manager, Fleet Reliability, Fleet Support Coordinators, or the Director of Maintenance.
- Has direct oversight of the Repeat Maintenance program. (GMM4 5-3)
- Validating (measure the process accuracy) the analysis and identification of open repeat mechanical irregularity alert forms. (GMM4 5-3)
- Fleet Support Coordinators will interact and coordinate with Maintenance, Maintenance Control, Technical Scheduled Production Planning, Technical Reliability and Engineering, Safety, Quality Assurance, Dispatch, the SOC Duty Manager, and Vendor Technical Representatives in the normal performance of their duties.
- In coordination with Maintenance Managers and/or Supervisors, ensure the efficient use of the maintenance staff in the troubleshooting of pending, chronic or grounding aircraft discrepancies by establishing proper workflows, coordinating materials, tooling, and routing of aircraft required for repairs.
- Fleet Support Coordinators are expected to exhibit a high degree of professionalism with customers and all work groups both internally and externally.
- Develop strategies for irregular maintenance operations recovery.
- Will be cross trained as a Maintenance Control Supervisor and will be required to perform back up coverage in the absence of a regularly scheduled Maintenance Control Supervisor.
- Fleet Support Coordinators will assist the Maintenance Department in troubleshooting aircraft with recurring maintenance issues by reading MDC downloads and other resources within GoJet Airlines.
- Provide feedback to Maintenance Control regarding post-troubleshooting events.
- Document and track completed Repeat Maintenance Program tasks for any further required actions. Documentation must include the disposition of all activities.
- Manage recurrent write-ups within established closure goals.
- Provide troubleshooting support for maintenance.
- Work with the Director of Maintenance to develop and refine Maintenance Department policies and procedures to enhance safety and efficiency.
- Will attend the Morning Maintenance Meeting and weekly MRB.
- Travel as required to support the Maintenance operation.
- Responsible for coordinating as necessary with the Maintenance Control Manager, Asset Management, Maintenance Managers and Supervisors, and SOC for repairs of chronic, pending and grounding maintenance issues with aircraft.
- Coordinate with outside vendors on concise fixes and appropriate follow-up.
- Work closely with Technical Reliability and Engineering to identify pending chronic issues with aircraft or aircraft components.
- Identify changes to the Maintenance Program that may be necessary to improve dispatch reliability and present to MRB.
- Coordinate with Technical Scheduled Production Planning and the SOC Duty Manager to ensure optimum fleet utilization, while preserving scheduled maintenance requirements.
- Coordinate the movement and tracking of resources (i.e., parts, tools, manpower, technical data etc.) needed for repair of discrepant aircraft to ensure compliance with all company manuals and Federal Regulations including Deferred Maintenance Items and Repair Tracking.
- Responsible for identifying and timely communicating any deficiencies with required materials, tooling, or staffing to the applicable Manager or department.
- Responsible for coordinating with all required work groups or individuals to ensure that all maintenance is performed accurately and with a high degree of safety.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
