What are the responsibilities and job description for the Assistant Director position at Tranquillity Camp?
We are hiring for an Assistant Camp Director to join an overnight summer camp in The Catskills, New York. The position is based in Earlton, New York during the late spring & summer and the remainder of the year you will work remotely.
This position leads program development, family engagement, and staff recruitment during the off-season and is responsible for managing day-to-day activities at camp throughout the summer. This role reports to and works closely with the Executive Director and will manage a team of seasonal staff.
This role provides the opportunity to have a meaningful impact on the culture and community at camp and be an influential voice in designing programming for the future. The ideal candidate has a background in camp leadership and a strong understanding of camp values and culture.
Responsibilities
Year-Round: Assist with staff hiring and communication, camper recruitment, program planning, partnership development and event participation.
Seasonal: Operations, people management, programming, camper care, family communication and more.
Qualifications
You are able to be a compassionate and positive leader, a team player, and you understand the value and impact camp provides.
● College Graduate with Bachelor's Degree in relevant field
● Minimum 2 years of experience in a residential camp setting required
● Experience with program development
● Experience managing a team
● Demonstrated knowledge of camp culture and values
