What are the responsibilities and job description for the Housekeeping position at Tranquility of Rockford?
The primary purpose of this position is to perform the day-to-day activities of the Housekeeping Department in accordance with current federal, state, and local standards, guidelines, and regulations governing our facility. Under the direction of the Administrator and/or Director of Housekeeping, you will help ensure our facility is maintained in a clean, safe, and comfortable manner for residents, staff, and visitors.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation throughout resident rooms, common areas, and facility spaces.
- Follow established housekeeping procedures and safety guidelines.
- Perform regular inspections of resident rooms for order, safety, and sanitation.
- Properly handle and store cleaning supplies and equipment.
- Communicate effectively with staff regarding emergency situations.
- Assist in maintaining a positive and harmonious work environment.
Specific Requirements
- Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.
- Ability to make independent decisions, follow instructions, and accept constructive feedback.
- Strong interpersonal skills to interact tactfully with residents, families, visitors, and staff.
- Willingness to learn and adopt new housekeeping methods and principles.
- Ability to follow written and oral instructions regarding cleaning compounds and procedures.
Preferred Experience
- Minimum of one (1) year experience in housekeeping within a nursing home or related medical facility preferred.
