As a Manufacturing Engineering Tech., you will be responsible for developing, improving, and implementing processes and programs that support the continuous improvement of quality and operational efficiencies while reducing overall costs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Use AutoCAD software for floor layout design and review plant layouts for accuracy.
- Support commissioning of new equipment into production by creating factory layouts, process maps, capability studies, equipment work instructions, and conduct training.
- Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical failures as the first point of contact for line stoppage.
- Collaborate with engineering, production, and quality teams to resolve production issues.
- Work with SCRUM teams to initiate labor and material saving ideation, business case creation, and implementation.
- Implement product changes and process changes on the production floor related to risk elimination, cost improvement projects, production demand, workstation design, material presentation, etc.
- Participate in NPD (new product development) teams to introduce new products and processes.
- Apply knowledge of engineering principles and practices to safety and ergonomic improvements.
- Review product Bill of Materials (BOMs) and update accordingly.
- Manage and support assembly process and BOMs software implementation (PODs, Q@S, Apriso).
- Evaluate production capacities through time studies and estimates.
- Drive root cause and corrective actions for issues related to safety, quality, customer delivery, and Lean Manufacturing techniques.
Required Qualifications:
- Mechanical Engineering Tech. degree preferred; 1-2 years' experience accepted as alternative.
- Strong computer skills, including MS Office with advanced Excel and PowerPoint.
- 1-2 years related experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Ability to approach unknown problems, gather information, make assessments, devise options, recommend, and implement solutions.
- Strong analytical ability to solve manufacturing problems and dimensional errors.
- Solid understanding of plant machining processes and overall business operations.
- Excellent communication and people skills.
- Ability to communicate at all levels of management.
- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing techniques and standard work creation.
