A Maintenance Technician is a skilled professional responsible for a variety of electrical and mechanical tasks. This role includes installing, troubleshooting, and maintaining electrical equipment, electronic control systems, and facility electrical systems. Additional responsibilities include installing, maintaining, and aligning production machinery; repairing and servicing analog, digital, hydraulic, and pneumatic equipment; machining components; performing welding; and handling machinery disassembly and reassembly.

This position is Union Hourly.

Pay and Benefits:

  • Starting wage: $27.11
  • Second & Weekend Shift Premium: $2.50
  • Medical & Vacation – upon completion of 84-day probationary period.
  • PTO/Sick Leave – after 6 months.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform assigned electrical and mechanical preventive maintenance tasks to ensure optimal equipment performance and reliability.
  • Troubleshoot and repair electrical and mechanical breakdowns across all company equipment, minimizing downtime and supporting efficient operations.
  • Accurately enter, update, and complete work orders, production records, maintenance logs, and all other required documentation to ensure maintenance activities are fully and properly recorded.
  • Safely and effectively operate all hand tools, both manual and powered, required for maintenance and repair work.
  • Operate a variety of shop equipment and demonstrate proficiency with CNC machine controls as well as robotic systems, PLCs, and other automated technologies to support maintenance, troubleshooting, and fabrication activities.
  • Consistently follow standard work procedures and safety protocols.
  • Utilize manuals, electrical blueprints and schematics.
  • Perform assigned electrical and mechanical PMs.
  • Respond to maintenance requests and emergencies in a timely manner.
  • Assist in the installation and commissioning of new equipment and systems.
  • Receives work instructions from a member of management or a team lead.
  • Operate forklifts, overhead cranes, and hoists
  • Must participate in basic problem solving, 5-S, and lean activities.
  • Maintain and inspect tools and equipment and escalate issues as necessary.
  • Basic functional knowledge of computers and ability to read and acknowledge work instructions electronically.
  • Effectively communicate with cross-functional departments to ensure parts are brought to the production line in a timely manner.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Job requirements:

  • Work any shift and work overtime as necessary to ensure that production demands are met.
  • Crosstrain both within and outside the assigned production area.
  • Use all required personal protective equipment.
  • Comply with all established plant rules and policies.
  • Contribute in a positive manner to the work teams in the assigned work area.

Physical requirements:

  • Independently capable of lifting, carrying, pushing or pulling objects up to 35lbs
  • Physical mobility within the work facility, including repetitive bending, twisting, squatting, kneeling, gripping and/or stooping.
  • Ability to work in high places and confined spaces
  • Ability to work at heights both on ladders and lifts as required, while using proper fall protection.

Qualifications:

  • Completion of a formal electrical apprenticeship program or may consider equivalent technical school training in electrician or related field or equivalent OJT.
  • A Maintenance Technician is required to complete the full apprenticeship program to become a Journeyman. Position may be subject to successful completion of the Trane Apprenticeship Program.
  • Demonstrated reliability
  • Subject to completion of company-approved aptitude testing
  • May be required to pass, hold and maintain a State of Wisconsin Electrician license
  • Must be at least eighteen (18) years of age
  • Ability to read, write, and follow directions, standard work, job breakdown sheets, and safety instructions in English.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the country of employment without needing sponsorship for employment work visa status now or in the future
  • Successful completion of a background check and drug screen is required.
