We are seeking an experienced Personal Injury Litigation Paralegal to join a fast-paced legal team located in Downtown Manhattan, NY. This full-time, fully in-office role requires a highly organized and detail-oriented professional proficient in managing multiple litigation matters from inception through trial. Fluency in both English and Spanish is essential for effective communication with clients and handling translations as needed. The ideal candidate will bring at least three years of hands-on litigation experience and a strong grasp of legal procedures specific to personal injury cases.
Own the discovery lifecycle for assigned litigation matters, from initial demands through note of issue. Free associate attorneys from administrative discovery work and ensure discovery compliance protects case value.
Key Responsibilities:
- Draft and serve discovery demands under CPLR 3120, 3121, and where applicable interrogatories under CPLR 3130, as well as notices to admit.
- Draft verified responses to defendants’ demands, including bills of particulars, supplemental BPs, and responses to combined demands.
- Collect, organize, and Bates-stamp medical records, bills, lost wage documentation, and collateral source materials.
- Handle HIPAA-compliant authorizations and follow-through with treating providers.
- Process subpoenas duces tecum, employment records, and prior medical records when relevant.
- Track outstanding discovery from defendants and prepare good-faith letters and motions to compel when needed.
- Input all discovery activity into Litify under the phase certification framework.
Qualifications:
- 3 years NY plaintiff PI litigation paralegal experience required.
- Working familiarity with Labor Law cases (§ 240, § 241(6), § 200), premises, and MVA litigation.
- Experience with NYSCEF e-filing.
- Strong written English and attention to detail at the verified-response level.
Salary : $80,000 - $90,000
