A prestigious and forward-thinking law firm is seeking an experienced Personal Injury Attorney to join its expanding Connecticut practice. The attorney will independently manage a personal injury caseload, develop case strategy, advocate for clients, and collaborate with experienced attorneys and legal professionals. This role may be based out of any firm office, but candidates must be admitted to practice law in Connecticut.
Responsibilities
- Manage personal injury matters independently from case evaluation and initiation through resolution.
- Develop and execute case strategies based on each matter’s facts, legal issues, and client objectives.
- Conduct legal research and draft pleadings, motions, discovery, and other legal documents.
- Take and defend depositions and represent clients in court appearances, mediations, arbitrations, and other proceedings.
- Negotiate with opposing counsel, insurance carriers, and other parties to advance cases and achieve favorable outcomes.
- Communicate regularly with clients regarding case status, strategy, and potential outcomes.
- Collaborate with attorneys, paralegals, and support staff to manage cases efficiently and meet deadlines.
- Analyze liability, damages, medical records, and other evidence to assess case value and develop litigation strategies.
- Stay current on developments in personal injury law, court procedures, and relevant legal trends.
Required Qualifications
- Active Connecticut law license in good standing.
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
- Five or more years of legal practice experience, with significant personal injury experience preferred.
- Experience independently managing a personal injury caseload.
- Strong legal research, writing, negotiation, and oral advocacy skills.
- Experience with depositions, motion practice, discovery, mediations, arbitrations, and court appearances.
- Strong understanding of personal injury litigation, including liability, damages, insurance coverage, and case valuation.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple cases and competing deadlines.
- Proactive, strategic, and results-oriented approach to case management and client representation.
Salary : $150,000 - $200,000
