Head Teacher – Early ChildhoodA highly regarded NYC independent school serving children ages 5–10 is seeking warm, dedicated, and team-oriented educators with backgrounds in Special Education and Early Childhood/Elementary Education. The Head Teacher is responsible for designing, delivering, and evaluating instruction across all subject areas. This role requires close daily collaboration with an Assistant Teacher and other specialist staff.We are looking for candidates with strong independent school experience, a passion for working in a collaborative setting, and a deep commitment to supporting students with language-based learning disabilities.Qualifications:• Master’s degree in Special Education and active NYS teaching certification• At least two years of teaching experience; Early Childhood experience strongly preferred• Experience in independent schools preferred• Strong understanding of the cognitive, linguistic, and developmental needs of elementary-aged students• Familiarity with Preventing Academic Failure, The Hochman Method/The Writing Revolution, and Singapore Math is preferred• Excellent classroom management, communication, and organizational abilities• Experience providing multisensory, explicit instruction tailored to individual student needs• Demonstrated commitment to work related to diversity, equity, and inclusion
Salary : $60,000 - $85,000
