Tran Thomas Design Studio is looking for an experienced Commercial Design Manager to
help lead our commercial team while staying actively involved in the creative work that drives
each project forward.
This role is ideal for a seasoned commercial interior designer who enjoys balancing strong
project leadership with day-to-day collaboration, mentoring others, and keeping momentum
across multiple projects. We are looking for someone who brings both technical depth and a

What You’ll Do
- Lead commercial interior design projects through all phases, including programming, schematic design, design documentation, construction documentation, construction administration, FF&E selection and procurement
- Guide furniture, finish, fixture, and equipment selections that align with project goals,
budgets, and client expectations
- Prepare and lead client presentations, project meetings, and design discussions
- Support project timelines, deliverables, and coordination with clients, consultants,
vendors, and contractors
- Supervise and support commercial design staff through daily direction, coaching, and
workflow coordination
- Review project work for consistency, quality, and technical accuracy
- Partner with firm leadership to support department priorities, staffing needs, and project
planning
What We’re Looking For
- Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design or related field required
- 10 years of commercial interior design experience
- Prior experience leading projects and supervising design staff
- Strong working knowledge of commercial design processes, documentation standards, materials mean and methods, building codes, furnishings, and project coordination, with the ability to manage multiple active projects while maintaining attention to detail and deadlines
- Proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite, Bluebeam and Microsoft Office;
experience with Procore preferred
- Strong communication, organization, and leadership skills
- A collaborative mindset and the ability to adapt in a fast-moving studio environment

Work Environment
This is a full-time exempt position based primarily in-office in Mission, with occasional local
travel for project meetings, site visits, and installations. Flexibility is expected to support project
deadlines and key project milestones.
