Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Dispatcher to join our logistics team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in coordinating the movement of goods, ensuring timely deliveries, and maintaining effective communication with drivers and clients. This position requires strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
Schedule
Day Shift Monday - Friday 6 am-2pm, Saturday 8 am-1pm.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate daily transportation activities, including scheduling pickups and deliveries.
- Utilize Samsara GPS technology to track fleet movements and optimize routes.
- Communicate effectively with drivers via phone systems to provide instructions and updates.
- Manage drivers based on their availability(34 hrs reset) and home time complying with company needs.
- Manage shipping and receiving processes to ensure accurate documentation and inventory control (implement processes).
- Collaborate with fleet management to maintain vehicle schedules and compliance.
- Maintain company dispatch software updated at all times.
- Utilize software for tracking shipments and managing logistics data.
- Monitor trucks and drivers for on time pick up and deliveries.
- Maintain clear communication with all stakeholders in the supply chain to ensure operational efficiency.
Requirements
- Proven experience in logistics, freight and dispatching roles, minimum of 5 to 10 years.
- Experience in Samsara GPS system.
- Excellence effective communication with drivers, brokers and customers.
- Experience in shipping and receiving processes, including documentation requirements.
- Experience using DAT and Truck Stop load board systems (minimum of 3 years).
- Understanding of supply chain principles and practices.
- Experience in Proficiency system (TMS system).
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
- Excellent verbal communication skills to interact professionally with drivers, clients, and team members.
- Good ethics and team work driven.
- Experience in using Microsoft office, such as excel.
