Specific responsibilities include:
Accounting Responsibilities
- Support day-to-day accounting functions including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger maintenance.
- Assist in monthly close processes, including journal entries, reconciliations, and intercompany transactions, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Help with audit preparation by maintaining organized, well-documented financial records.
- Maintain documentation for accounting policies, procedures, and workflows — ensuring consistency across the organization.
- Assist with tax filings, compliance reporting, and coordination with external accountants as needed.
- Support the annual budgeting and forecasting process, coordinating inputs from across the organization.
Finance Responsibilities
- Track and update model assumptions based on market data, vendor quotes, and internal development milestones.
- Collaborate with development, transaction and legal teams to ensure models reflect current project status and commercial terms.
- Support debt and tax equity financing processes, including preparing materials for lenders and investors and responding to diligence requests.
Experience and Background:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred; CPA or progress toward CPA is a plus.
- Proficiency with accounting software such as QuickBooks, NetSuite, or similar platforms.
- Strong Excel skills; comfortable building and maintaining financial models, pivot tables, and reporting templates.
- Proficient with Google Suite and Microsoft 365 (Excel, SharePoint, Teams) and cloud-based document management tools such as Box.
- Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously — balancing recurring close deadlines with ad hoc requests without things slipping through the cracks.
- Clear communicator who can translate financial information for non-finance teammates and leadership.
- Knowledge or interest in energy or renewable energy development is preferred.

Position based in the Chicago area. Flexibility on working from home multiple days a week, and in office typically 2-3 days a week. Salary range is $70,000 - $80,000 dependent on experience.
