Duties
- Support multiple classrooms by stepping into different roles as needed, including toddler care, infant care, preschool activities, and general childcare.
- Assist with daily routines such as feeding, diapering, nap times, and outdoor play to ensure children’s comfort and well-being.
- Engage children in age-appropriate activities that promote development in areas like social skills, motor skills, language, and early childhood education.
- Observe and document children’s progress, behavior, and milestones to inform teaching staff and parents.
- Maintain a safe environment by following health and safety protocols, including first aid procedures when necessary.
- Collaborate with teachers and caregivers to implement behavior management strategies that foster positive interactions.
- Support classroom organization, including cleaning up activities and preparing materials for upcoming lessons.
Skills
- Proven experience working with children in daycare, preschool, babysitting, nannying or classroom settings.
- Knowledge of childhood development principles and early childhood education best practices.
- Ability to perform first aid and CPR to respond effectively in emergencies.
- Experience caring for infants and toddlers with patience, compassion, and enthusiasm.
- Strong understanding of behavior management techniques suitable for young children.
- Ability to adapt quickly to changing environments and support various age groups seamlessly.
- Excellent communication skills for collaborating with team members and engaging with children’s families.
