We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Industrial Painter to join our manufacturing team. In this role, you will be responsible for applying high-quality coatings and finishes on heavy equipment trailers. Duties
- Prepare surfaces for painting by cleaning, blowing off sand, or masking using hand tools and power tools to ensure optimal adhesion and finish quality
- Operate air assisted-airless paint spraying equipment, brushes, rollers, and other application tools efficiently and safely
- Mix paints, primers, and coatings according to specifications, ensuring correct ratios with basic math skills
- Apply coatings accurately on steel trailer frames using industrial painting techniques
- Handle materials safely with proper use of cranes, forklifts, and materials handling equipment to transport supplies and finished products
- Conduct inspections using precision measuring instruments to verify coating thickness and surface quality standards
- Maintain a clean work environment by organizing tools and disposing of waste materials in accordance with safety regulations
- Collaborate with fabrication and assembly teams to ensure seamless integration of painted components.
- Follow lean manufacturing principles to optimize workflow efficiency while maintaining high-quality standards
Skills
- Proficiency in industrial painting techniques including spray systems and repair methods
- Mechanical knowledge related to manufacturing processes, paint pump systems, and spray guns.
- Experience operating forklifts, power tools, hand tools, and other equipment essential for materials handling and assembly
- Familiarity with paint mixing ratios and their purpose
- Ability to use precision measuring instruments for quality control checks
- Strong understanding of materials handling procedures within warehouse environments
- Basic math skills for mixing paints and calculating coverage areas
- Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles to improve productivity and reduce waste
- Auto body repair skills are an added plus for detailed finishing work on metal surfaces
- Experience with welding or auto painting is a plus but not mandatory
