Position Summary
The Overnight Hotel Security is responsible for ensuring the safety and security of guests, employees, and hotel property during overnight hours. This role monitors hotel premises, responds to incidents, enforces security procedures, and provides a visible security presence to maintain a safe environment.
Key Responsibilities
1. Safety & Security Patrols
Conduct regular interior and exterior patrols of the hotel property, including guest floors, back-of-house areas, parking lots, and public spaces.
Monitor entrances, exits, and restricted areas to prevent unauthorized access.
Identify and report safety hazards, suspicious behavior, or security risks.
2. Incident Response
Respond promptly to emergencies such as alarms, disturbances, medical situations, or security breaches.
Assist law enforcement, emergency services, and hotel management as required.
Document incidents clearly and accurately in incident reports and security logs.
3. Guest Support
Provide courteous and professional assistance to guests during overnight hours.
Support front desk with guest issues, welfare checks, or escorting guests to rooms when needed.
Handle lost-and-found items according to hotel policy.
5. Compliance & Procedures
Enforce hotel security policies, safety regulations, and emergency procedures.
Support fire safety processes, including alarm resets, fire panel monitoring, and evacuation assistance.
Maintain key control and uphold confidentiality of guest and hotel information.
6. Team Coordination
Communicate all incidents, concerns, and maintenance issues to management and relevant departments.
Participate in security training, drills, and departmental meetings.
Assist in handover communications with management teams.
Qualifications
Previous security experience preferred; hotel or hospitality experience is an advantage.
Basic First Aid/CPR certification preferred.
Strong communication and conflict-de-escalation skills.
Ability to remain alert and attentive during overnight shifts.
