Trail Life USA is excited to announce the return of its dynamic summer internship at the Home Office for summer 2025! Now entering its third year, this successful program promises to be better than ever. Who’s it for?
- Trailmen, ages 18 - 22 years old
- Preference will be given to Freedom Rangemen
When is it?
- June 9th through August 1st, 2025
Where is it?
- Camp Aiken! Trail Life USA’s home office and 127 acre property with fishing ponds, hiking trails, gymnasium, and more!

What does it look like?
- Work alongside national staff daily
- Complete meaningful projects meant to advance our mission
What do I get?
- Lodging at Camp Aiken for the duration of the internship
- A weekly stipend to cover expenses
- Experience in your area of interest or multiple areas
- Marketing, IT, Communications, Program Development, Training, Finance, and more!
- Access to all Camp Aiken and the South Carolina upstate has to offer!

What else do I need to know?
- Applications accepted until February 15th OR until very limited spots are filled (i.e. Don’t Wait!)
- Selection of 3-5 Trailmen will be made by March 1st
Key Areas of Involvement:
- Nonprofit Administration: Gain hands-on experience in various aspects of nonprofit management, including organizational structure, budgeting, and strategic planning.
- Marketing: Assist in developing and implementing marketing strategies to promote Trail Life USA programs and initiatives.
- Systems and Processes: Learn about and contribute to the development and improvement of organizational systems and processes.
- Program Development: Collaborate with our team to create and enhance programs that promote character development, leadership skills, and outdoor adventure.
Requirements:
- Rank of Freedom Rangeman preferred
- Applicant must be 18 years old by the start of the internship. College Juniors and Seniors will be given priority
- Passion for youth development and character education
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Commitment to Trail Life USA's values and mission
