Special Education Teacher - Trail Elementary School

This is a special education certified staff position position at Trail Elementary School in Torrington, Wyoming, for the 2026-2027 academic year. Trail Elementary serves students in grades 3-5. The position offers a comprehensive benefits package, including health, vision, and dental insurance. Salary is based on education and experience, in accordance with the district’s certified staff salary schedule. The start date is August 10, 2026.

Purpose Statement

The job of Teacher - Special Education was established for the purpose/s of developing special education students' success in academics, interpersonal skills and activities of daily living by implementing district approved curriculum; documenting teaching and student progress/activities, outcomes; addressing students' specific needs; providing a safe and optimal learning environment; and providing feedback to students, parents and administration regarding student progress, expectations, goals, etc.

This job reports to the building principal.

This position is open until April 19, 2026, or until filled.

 Experience  Job related experience is desired.

Education   Bachelor's degree in Special Education

Continuing Educ./Training     Maintains PTSB certification by earning 5 credit hours per every 5 year renewal period

Certificates & Licenses    Professional Teaching Standards Board Certification with applicable Special Education endorsement(s)

Clearances    Criminal Justice Fingerprint/Background Clearance
