In this energetic position, you will be responsible for directing vehicular and pedestrian traffic, maintaining safety protocols, and supporting the overall efficiency of construction activities. Duties
- Set up and operate traffic control devices such as cones, signs, and barriers to guide vehicles and pedestrians safely around construction zones
- Use hand signals, flags, or stop/slow paddles to direct traffic according to site requirements
- Monitor traffic flow and adjust control measures as needed to prevent congestion or accidents
- Communicate clearly with construction crews, drivers, and pedestrians to ensure understanding of directions and safety procedures
- Maintain a clean and organized work area by regularly inspecting traffic control equipment and replacing worn or damaged items
- Follow all safety guidelines and regulations to uphold a secure work environment at all times
- Assist with additional site duties such as basic equipment operation or supporting construction activities when required
Qualifications
- Prior experience in construction or traffic control is preferred but not required; training will be provided for motivated candidates
- Ability to stand for extended periods, walk, and perform physical tasks in various weather conditions
- Strong communication skills with the ability to clearly convey instructions using hand signals or verbal commands
- Knowledge of safety protocols related to traffic management and construction sites
- Valid certification in flagging or traffic control is preferred; willingness to obtain necessary certifications upon hire
Requirements:
- Be willing to work 8 or 11 hours shifts, weekends if necessary.
- Have reliable communication to receive calls and work schedule.
- Provide your own composite work shoes to be worn during your work shift
